50 years of Casio: celebrating a legacy that unites generations

Legendary Japanese brand Casio is about to celebrate 80 years of existence, and its iconic line of watches turns half a century old in 2024. Since the launch of its first Casiotron watch in 1974, Casio has established itself as a pioneer in innovation, playing a key role in the digital watch revolution. Fifty years on, Casio continues to create watches that are true works of art, fusing Japanese fashion and technology. This landmark date was celebrated yesterday at a special event for customers, friends and brand ambassadors.

To commemorate this historic date, the brand organised an exclusive event at the H Club in Madrid, where generations X, Y and Z came together. Casio designed games that connected these three generations, creating a special bond through its iconic watches, a symbol of intergenerational connection. Each team, made up of five participants selected from social networks, was led by prominent figures: Pablo Ciapella, actor and comedian, captained the Gen X team; Susana Bicho, influencer, led the Gen Y team; and Claudia García, actress and influencer, guided the Gen Z team.

The celebration culminated with a cocktail party full of live music and magic, where friends of the brand toasted to the next fifty years of Casio and its legacy in innovation and fashion. David Zuazua, Marketing Director of Casio Spain, reflected on the brand’s trajectory, underlining: ‘Although it may seem that the generations sometimes don’t understand each other, there are always bridges that unite us. Casio is and will always be one of those bridges. Throughout these five decades, Casio has left an indelible mark on the lives of every generation.
