Another of the collections that has attracted the most attention and has had the most presence on social networks this weekend has been that of the brand founded by Rhode Island School of Design graduates Mike Eckhaus and Zoe Latta, known to all as Eckhaus Latta.
Considered one of New York’s most solid, independent, artisanal and indie brands, E.L. celebrated its tenth anniversary in the industry by presenting its fall/winter 22 collection during NYFW with a runway show at the former Essex Market with a soundtrack by noise musician Brian Chippendale as a backdrop, featuring several friends of the brand, including David Moses, Hari Nef, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, Thistle Brown, Cole Mohr and Paloma Elsesser.
As for the collection, it was a summary of everything Eckhaus Latta has built: fresh, unpretentious ready-to-wear, with touches of perversion, craftsmanship and community. The garments that caught our eye the most? The transparent and shiny knitted pieces, open at the back; the mini-dresses cut on a square edge; the slit tailoring or the chain-mail pieces that closed the show, graphically cut and handmade in the brand’s atelier.
Congratulations to Eckhaus Latta on ten years and here’s to another ten years! Check out the gallery to see the collection in its entirety.
And if you still haven’t had time to see Proenza Schouler’s proposal, now is the time.
