The Danish designer, considered one of the leading exponents of the new romanticism, surprises at Paris Fashion Week with her latest SS23 collection, which includes a very floral collaboration with the sports brand Asics.
Known for mixing Scandinavian effortlessness and simplicity with French romanticism, Cecilie Bahnsen has gone for airy dresses paired with trainers for the SS23 season. But in her idealistic universe, there is no room for all sneakers, in fact, she presents next year’s must-have: Asics with floral overlays.
Bahnsen’s eco-friendly practices align perfectly with Asics‘ sustainability drive: 90 percent of the running shoes manufactured between 2021 and 2022 are made from recycled materials. Flowers cut from leftover scraps of the same material as the upper of the GEL-1090 are delicately placed on the upper of the shoe.
Bahnsen opts for a selection of black and yellow tones on the GEL-1090 and ice blue and white tones on the GEL-1130, before covering both with his bouquet of appliqués. “These are trainers designed for everyone, especially where you’re running in the morning, working all day and partying at night, and one pair of shoes can get you through it all,” says the designer.
