Ottolinger continues without looking back in his show for the SS23 season. Because to look back is to die, but to evolve does not imply sacrificing their brand codes. And they know it very well.
This morning, in a room full of white mattresses at the Lycée Turgot, Christa Bösch and Cosima Gadient presented the upcoming Ottolinger SS23 collection to be a real bad bitch this summer.
After having settled all the attendees on the mattresses, a techno music starts to play. The fashion show begins… it begins with a series of motomamis stepping on the catwalk. Moving away from their comfort zone, full of transparencies and cotton looks, black leather-based recycled polyester-starts the show. It’s a material we haven’t seen much of at Ottolinger, but we have to admit it works. The motomamis have definitely invaded the season; we’ve already seen them at Versace, Diesel, Saint Laurent…
Although they have joined the new leather-effect trend, Ottolinger keeps its hallmark for SS23. The straps both tied and loose around the garment are a must in every look. Let’s not forget that this element is what has made the brand what it is today, and we love it. Iconic jackets become skirts and pants are cut in the hip area to become straps that cover the nipples.
In accessories, there have been new additions. Twisted glasses appear in new shades such as yellow and opaque electric blue. The ceramic bag expands to baguette format and adds leather attachments and studs, and even in a more romantic facet with bows and hearts. As for footwear, the iconic Ottolinger sandal is joined by pointed toe heels with rubber details and neoprene boots with a square toe.
With this new SS23 collection from Ottolinger, is there any wonder why it has become one of celebrities’ favorite brands? We don’t.
