SNIPES honors two of the most iconic European fashion capitals with the help of their local ambassadors Tobias ‘TJ’ Jeronim and Manuel ‘Manu’ Harrau – dedicating exclusive sneakers to their respective hometown Paris and Berlin.
The retailer, based in Cologne, has a group of local ambassadors in relevant European key cities to stay in touch with trending topics and the local communities. These include for example Milano, Barcelona or Amsterdam.
When presented with the opportunity to create their own adidas Forum Low as a homage to their hometowns, their local ambassadors applied their creative skill sets and went to work.
TJ is the local ambassador for Berlin. He is a passionate graffiti artist, so probably no one knows the city and its culture better than him. He combined his design skills with his keen eye for graffiti and the outcome is a clean Forum Low colorway with authentic and playful details referencing Berlin‘s iconic street ball courts and backyards.
Manu, who is the local ambassador for Paris, came to the city as a young photographer with a passion for balling. He took inspiration from one of his favorite spots in Paris: The Rue-de-Trévise-Gym – one of the oldest basketball courts in the world. Ballers have been doing their thing on that hardwood floor for almost 130 years and counting. The Paris colorway reflects the blue railings, crème-colored walls, and the parquet of the gym – it doesn’t get classier tan that.
To celebrate the drops of their exclusive colorways there will be in-store installations in select SNIPES stores in Paris and Berlín. The installations are based on iconic street ball courts in these cities. A basketball hoop and steel fences in the middle of the SNIPES Alexanderplatz store – hardwood floors and wall bars in their Paris, Rue St. Denis store will bring TJ‘s and Manu‘s inspirations to life. No question, this installation wouldn’t be complete without the sounds of chainlink hoops on outdoor courts and squeaking sneakers in old basketball gyms.
The highlight of the activation will be a vertical jump test with a leaping pole in the middle of the stores. TJ and Manu will join the events in their respective cities, of course – both representing their store shoe designs as well as hyping up the crowd. The highest jump in each city will win a pair of brand-new SNIPES exclusive adidas Forum Lows. The contest will take place on November 25th in Paris and on November 25th in Berlin.
Both silhouettes are built with premium leather and suede on the uppers and come with matching lace jewels and a customizable tongue patch that leaves some space for trash-talking.
The SNIPES x adidas Originals Forum Low ‘Berlin’ and ‘Paris’ are now available in SNIPES stores in Europe and online on snipes.com
