Today sees the release of Alizzz’s new EP, entitled ‘Boicot’. A collection of five songs, two of which (‘Que pasa nen’ and ‘Todo está bien’) were released in recent months and have already become new hits.
Referring to the strongest and most powerful meaning of the word ‘boycott’, the artist understands this new work as a form of sabotage: “I felt that a couple of songs were not enough and that it was worth making a more extensive work and exploring this feeling”, he assures.
The aim of the EP is clear: to break away from the pop structures that the artist had been doing before as well as to somehow boycott everything he could think of, including himself.
“I decided to do this EP because I was at a somewhat radical point and I wanted to break with everything, both artistically and personally. It seemed interesting to me the idea of breaking with the way of writing, the structures of the songs…. Trying to use another kind of language to do something new, which, at the end of the day, is what always catches my attention: making things that sound fresh at all levels”, he concludes.
Alizzz will present, during the month of March, these new tracks along with the already known ones from his debut album ‘Tiene que haber algo más’, on four dates in exclusive venues in Barcelona, Granada, Malaga and Madrid. He will also perform at different festivals during the summer, such as SanSan, Spring Festival, BigSound and Río Babel) You can get your tickets by clicking here.
