On Sunday 19 February 93 SIERRA/CROSSES made its debut on the catwalk with its catwalk show at MBFWMadrid, where it presented its FW23-24 collection. In it, they continue to focus on emblematic pieces on the elevated streetwear concept, where the cut and quality of the garments are the protagonists.
A new proposal that continues to develop the discourse that has been developed for three years in previous collections: the vision of Asturias itself. As Oliver Iglesias, designer and founder of 93 SIERRA/CROSSES says, “I try to translate my experiences into the sensations that my land transmits to me and adapt those codes to the garments. For this reason, I deal with recurring themes such as the influence of the working class and the natural landscapes of Asturias”.
However, it is worth noting the incorporation of a new concept to the proposal, which takes as its starting point the influence of the punk and hardcore aesthetics of the late 80s and early 90s. Under the stylistic direction of Adrián Lorca, the 15 looks that make up the fashion show are a tribute to rebellious adolescence.
The graphics on the garments directly allude to the bands listened to by the younger generations at the time, with covers and posters of groups such as Barricada, Soziedad Alkoholika and Anthrax. Another of the key points of the collection are the 3D printed nylon glasses and the collaboration with adidas in terms of footwear with the Campus 00s model in various colours. The Army boots, both black and white, inspired by the modern brutalism of Le Corbusier and Roberto Puig Álvarez and composed of a customised Vibram sole and an upper made by VAT 3D polymerisation, were also of particular importance.
All of this was presented in an avant garde atmosphere starring different leading figures from the artistic scene such as TRISTÁN! or Munic HB, who paraded to the rhythm of a soundtrack led by Mark Luva on a stage designed by Casa Antillón.
