After the end of Milan Fashion Week without the Versace show, people were wondering what would happen with the presentation of the latest collection of the Italian house. The show has finally been held in Los Angeles, a city with which Donatella Versace has a huge bond.
On the rooftop of the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, with a splendid backdrop decorated by the skyline of the hill, iconic models such as Naomi Campbell, Irina Shayk, Gigi Hadid or Kendall Jenner paraded on the Versace runway. Some of the celebrities who did not miss the show were Anne Hathaway, Pamela Anderson, Elton John, Cher, Miley Cyrus, Lil Nas X, Paris Hilton, Channing Tatum or Dua Lipa.
For this line, Donatella took the 1995 Atelier collection as a reference point, introducing delicate and subtle elements and distancing herself from the ostentation that characterizes her. Versace FW23 is starred by the color black, which is sometimes accompanied by orange, blue or pink shades. Some of the patterns that the firm recovers from the 90s are the Little black dresses, opera gloves, floral prints, hourglass waists and sculptural silhouettes. Donatella empowers the female figure to the maximum in her new line.
The Italian fashion house draws inspiration from Hollywood glamour and lifestyle in its presentation just two days before the Oscars. In addition to the sexiest looks with double-breasted blazers and leather gloves, jeans with faux fur jackets, and business-woman-chic ensembles of barbie jacket, pencil skirt and pink satin handbag appeared on the catwalk. In the men’s looks we could also see subtlety that, accompanied by accessories from the 90s, turned into sensuality.
The fashion show closed with a Los Angeles nightlife theme: men’s tank tops with crystal beads, gemstone tuxedos, or shiny silk dresses.
