The MSCHF collective launched the Big Red Boots inspired by Astro Boy’s boots a month ago, now Red Wing together with Nintendo and Illumination are celebrating the arrival of the Super Mario Bros movie and making a life-size replica of the beloved character’s shoes.
The pairs of shoes are made from natural leather with non-slip treads. Additional touches include “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” logo label and heel tabs made from mushroom-based mycelium. The shoes will not be available for sale to the public, but will be on display throughout April at Nintendo‘s New York offices.
This collaboration is a result of the imminent release of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” which has generated a lot of expectations thanks to the iconic characters of one of the world’s biggest video game franchises. “Super Mario Bros. The Movie” will be released in cinemas in Spain and virtually everywhere else in the world on 5 April.
