Just one year after Glenn Martens was appointed Jean Paul Gaultier’s single-season creative director, his Y/Project brand and JPG are back for a second “Trompe l’oeil” collaboration.
This time, the Jean Paul Gaultier x Y/Project collaborative collection focuses on prints that play with the illusion of the garments and Jean Paul Gaultier’s iconic trompe l’oeil print. 2D printed knitwear is layered over mesh dresses and tank tops, while long skirts and mini skirts are paired with printed shorts.
Cut-outs, dyeing techniques and layering add to Jean Paul Gaultier’s core silhouettes, further enhanced by mesh fabrics and combinations. An evolution of the duo’s first partnership that aims to truly maximise the concept of illusion, taking it one step further for the new Spring/Summer 2023 season.
The collection is accompanied by a campaign shot by Thomas Cristiani and starring Gia Bab, with creative direction courtesy of Florence Tétier.
The collection is now available on the Jean Paul Gaultier website.
