PUMA and designer Rhuigi Villaseñor arrive with the third part of their collaboration. The third capsule collection, which continues to celebrate New York culture, commemorates the 50th anniversary of hip-hop.
Bringing together the past, present and future, PUMA x Rhuigi delivers American classics in a special tribute to the five boroughs of NYC. While the first part pays homage to the eclectic talent of the city’s street artists, and the second pays a nod to a New York staple, the humble slice of pizza. The third is a tribute to the city’s rich hip-hop history, which is 50 years old this year, and its indivisible union with breakdancing.
As such, the collection features designs inspired by 1970s New York hip-hop and b-boying, and ready for breakdancing. The T7 Track Top and Track Pants are complemented by a selection of graphic tees and a beanie, while the iconic Suede BBOY complete the look. The range of garments comes in warm tones of brown, red and soft pink from the Suede collection.
Created especially for the collaboration, a retro graphic used throughout the collection references New York City and Herzogenaurach, PUMA’s home in Germany.
The campaign is fronted by New York dance group W.A.F.F.F.L.E., consisting of @taylah_gvng, @sean.mcfly & @shoemanstro.
The latest PUMA x Rhuigi capsule will be available from April 1, 2023 at PUMA.com, and selected stores worldwide.
