Barbie Ferreira talks about her exit from ‘Euphoria’ after Season 2: “I wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend.”
In August last year, Barbie Ferreira announced her departure from the famous HBO series ‘Euphoria’ after the second season. The actress wrote without giving many details: “After four years embodying Kat’s most special and enigmatic character, I have to say goodbye with tears in my eyes. I hope that many of you have felt reflected in her as I did and that you were happy to see how she has become the character she is today. I put all my love and affection in her and I hope you could feel it. I love you Katherine Hernandez.
Already in the second season of the series we saw less of her character, and fans drew their own conclusions and theories. In an episode of the podcast Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard, the actress said: “I think my character, who I love so much, I don’t think she had a place to go. It had run its course, story-wise.”
“I don’t know if I was going to do it justice and I think both sides knew that I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend, you know?” she said. “I don’t want to interpret that and I don’t think they wanted that either. So I would have played it as long as they would have asked me to depending on what the material was.”
On the other hand, don’t miss anything about ‘What We Carry,’ the Prada and National Geographic series.
