If there is one thing that stands out about Cuba, that tropical paradise in the middle of the Caribbean, it is not its landscape (which is also true) but the vibrant energy of its people. Over the years, ‘La Cubanía’ has managed to conquer the whole world thanks to its joyful spirit that extends to all disciplines: from music to cinema, from painting to dance and literature.
For this reason, and taking advantage of the launch of the new Havana Club spot, we wanted to review the country’s recent history and celebrate some of the most important figures who have stood out in recent years. While Millennials grew up dancing to the rhythm of Buena Vista Social Club, Generation Z is clearly influenced by figures such as Camila Cabello and Malú Trevejo, who have millions of followers on Instagram.
The fashion world also wanted to pay tribute to Cuban culture and, in 2016, Karl Lagerfeld presented the Chanel Cruise collection in Havana, becoming the first Latin American country to host a Chanel show.
In Spain, the most important musical references such as Bad Gyal, C. Tangana or Maikel Delacalle have also joined Havana Club on different occasions; while on the international scene Skepta has always been linked to the brand, starring in one of the most exclusive collaborations.
Through The Cuban Mode we discover the essence of the contemporary and modern capital that combines iconic and traditional places with vibrant festive scenes. A new way to share the love and understanding of the Cuban people whose collective energy makes them a unique nation.
Now it’s our turn. It’s time to activate Cuban Mode by embracing the contagious spirit of Cuba and inviting rum lovers to participate in this unique celebration. What are you waiting for?
