After designing a single season for Ann Demeulemeester, the designer known for his signature sensual, genderless style is stepping down, according to Business of Fashion.
Ludovic de Saint Sernin brought his creative vision to Ann Demeulemeester’s Fall/Winter 2023 season presented in March during Paris Fashion Week. They walked the runway in 36 looks that paid homage to the brand’s archives, reinterpreted with the Belgian designer’s powerful spicy touch. The news of his unexpected departure from the brand has shocked the entire fashion industry, although not many details have been shared yet.
De Saint Sernin has conquered during his career iconic celebrities such as Kim Kardashian or Gigi Hadid and a multitude of young followers thanks to his particular vision marked by fluidity and sensuality. In addition to his short stay at Ann Demeulemeester, the creative has his eponymous brand founded in 2017 with which he got a nomination for the LVMH Prize and made his way very quickly in the fashion world. It is uncertain whether his departure from the brand’s direction will lead him to focus entirely on his own designs, or perhaps to start working with another fashion house.
