In the brand’s new men’s collection, Matthew M. Williams revives the Givenchy Gentleman archetype through classic silhouettes and contemporary pieces.
The new M. Williams line includes cashmere tracksuits paired with white blazers and tailored jackets with thistle emblems on the fastenings. The laid-back luxury that characterizes the current era is embodied in coats made from suit fabric that become a technical garment.
A khaki suit and work jacket in marbled gray or denim bring a touch of cool to the house’s signature suit, and varsity silhouettes are made from shearling rather than nylon or cotton. A sharp-cut evening jacket is paired with punk pants, and the garments are complemented by accessories like the Essential U backpack and Voyou bag in classic and crossbody versions. Double-sided cashmere duffles, G-Zip and Pandora with Givenchy logos complete the accessories line.
“I like to develop things that may seem simple. But I don’t really know where you can buy them. So in this collection I worked to create a balance between a strong, directional fashion proposition and a series of timeless, elevated wardrobe pieces that I want to wear and would struggle to find anywhere,” commented M. Williams about the collection.
Givenchy Pre-Spring 2024 will be available in stores and online in early November.
