The avant-garde brand Doublet has just presented its SS24 collection during Paris Fashion Week. The universe of the Tokyo firm is one of the most interesting, and its unpredictable proposal has kept all the attendees expectant until the end.
Creative director Masayuki Ino left a sentimental note on each seat detailing an emotional journey of rejection. The theme of the runway show was the development of artificial intelligence and the fear that exists regarding this current topic, showing futuristic and digitized pieces and characters.
The collection has a humorous undertone, as usual in Doublet. Some models walked the runway on hoverboards, while others looked like mad scientists. We saw digitally faded denim ensembles, as well as metallic looks with frayed edges, a T-shirt with “I Love 3D” trompe l’oeil lettering and fun sweatpants with dangling wires.
The runway show closed with a sinister futuristic dolphin wearing a frayed tweed jacket and shorts with silver piping, as well as his scary face mask. Among the footwear options, Doublet included his spiked popcorn sneakers and the brand’s lace-up Vibram FiveFingers.
