Over the last few years this 1970s ‘space age’ style house and avant-garde pieces has become one of the most sought-after locations for filming advertising campaigns, series or movies. Now, the artist Felipe Pantone intends to turn this space, which he has called Casa Axis, into an artistic refuge.
From appearing in one of the episodes of the latest season of the dystopian series ‘Black Mirror’ to hosting creatives from all over the world, Casa Axis is the latest project by artist Felipe Pantone. For four years the Argentinian-Valencian had been trying to find a studio he liked until this house in the municipality of L’Eliana came along. Known locally as the ‘Chalet de Camañes’, the property has had a few owners before Felipe.
The space includes 7,000 square metres of land, a discotheque with excellent sound thanks to Admire Audio; a frontenis court, two swimming pools (one of them inside the house) and different design pieces by artists such as Elio Martinelli, André Ricard, Tobia & Afra Scarpa, Miguel Milá, Cassina, Kartell or Missoni Home. The 1,300-square-metre house has four bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, living room and other rooms.
Originally designed in 1975 by the architect Antonio Segura and the architectural studio Pascual Genovés, the Casa Axis was first built as a ‘space age’ structure. Over the last few years, this space has been used for the filming of advertising campaigns, series or films such as Black Mirror, Full of Grace and The Substitute. The house has also been the setting for campaigns for brands such as Bottega Veneta, Mercedes-Benz, Puma and Palomo Spain.
This project led by Felipe is conceived to redefine the concept of artistic exploration and serve as a global centre for the convergence of different disciplines thanks to the programme of artistic residencies that will bring together established and emerging talents from all over the world. Casa Axis will also house the artist’s private collection, providing an intimate view of his works and a deeper insight into the universe of one of today’s leading contemporary artists.
