Now, the sustainable brand is entering a new dimension with the launch of its first gender-neutral collection designed by New York-based artist Jeff Weins. Entitled “With Weins“, this textile work merges with the abstract paintings and creative vision of the multidisciplinary artist to offer a series of combinations dressed in a neutral color palette that spans a range of soft grays and khakis.
Within the collection, pieces that evoke utilitarian aesthetics such as beige shorts, paired with gray pants and striped tomboy-style boxer shorts are on display. In parallel, an oversized short-sleeved zippered T-shirt is stamped with the ubiquitous “With” as a crest, in the same series alongside a minimalist white T-shirt decorated with Weins’ spray-painted flowers in the center. In it, a set that includes an elegant tube top with lace details on the back, along with a matching mini skirt, is also presented in a coordinated manner.
In this regard, Weins wanted to delve into the inspiration behind the collaboration, “The paintings in the collection are largely inspired by the city of Los Angeles, the landscapes and things that surrounded me at the time. Since moving to New York, the process has been different; consequently, so is the work.” While working with the creative team on their first gender-neutral collection, it was critical that we create pieces that were existing basics in my closet that had conventionally “disappeared.”
With Jéan‘s first gender-neutral collection is now available in the brand’s online store.
