Twitch adds a feature similar to TikTok clips

This breakthrough has been a project in development for years and comes in direct response to feedback from the user community.

Twitch adds a feature similar to TikTok clips

Twitch will introduce an innovative feature called “Discovery Feed,” which will incorporate a Clips feature similar to TikTok.

This feature will be displayed in a scrollable feed in the Twitch app, offering a customized mix of Clips. The main purpose of this feature is to make it easier for streamers to reach a wider audience, especially during their disconnects from live streaming.

“Given Twitch’s focus on live, interactive channels, our goal is not for viewers to spend hours on a Clips channel. Our investment in Clips is to help viewers discover your channel so they can join you and your community when you stream,” Twitch shared in a blog post.

In addition, the platform is empowering content creators by giving them more control over their Clips. Starting in August, streamers will have the ability to mark Clips as “featured” via their Creator Dashboard, which will ensure that selected Clips get priority in discovery paths, including the upcoming Discovery Feed.

Prior to its official launch in the fall, Twitch plans to test limited versions of the Discovery Feed, tweaking algorithms and optimizing the overall user experience.
