Marni teams up with Dingyun Zhang for a capsule of exaggerated outerwear

This new collaboration once again reflects Marni’s ongoing commitment to creative exchange and innovation in fashion.

The outerwear capsule collection features a range of functional everyday down-filled coats and jackets that challenge the boundaries of fashion with exaggerated silhouettes that explore the “superhuman” look. The relationship between garments and individuals is at the heart of the collaboration, whose pieces were carefully designed to protect and elevate the body through unusual proportions.

The special range focuses on experimentation with textures, primary colors, polka dots and windowpane motifs that combine to create a poetic and bold exploration of fashion. The pieces are often hand-knitted with Marni mohair, which adds the touch of luxury and warmth combined with Zhang’s unique methodology.

“The Marni and Dingyun Zhang co-designed coats are an exemplary expression of Marni’s distinctive take on materiality, seamlessly combined with Ding’s radical approach to utilitarian design, patternmaking and three-dimensionality,” shares Marni.
