At the recent 38th Festival d’Hyères, Fagerstrom stood out among the finalists for its ingenious use of recycled materials.
Petra Fagerstrom, praised for her vision and skill, transformed Mercedes-Benz spare parts into authentic, wearable works of art.
Charles de Vilmorin, President of the Hyères Festival Fashion Jury, said: “The quality of her work is absolutely superb. We felt the need and the sense that Petra wanted to give to the circularity and the choice of materials she used for this look.”
In addition to winning the Mercedes-Benz Sustainability Award, Petra Fagerstrom will receive a financial grant to further her brand and future projects. Mercedes-Benz’s investment in sustainable fashion talent demonstrates its nearly 30-year commitment to the industry globally. Julia Hofmann, Head of Branded Entertainment & Brand Partnerships at Mercedes-Benz AG, expressed her enthusiasm: “At Mercedes-Benz, we have been committed to fashion on a global scale for almost 30 years. Our sincere congratulations to Petra Fagerstrom. We look forward to continuing to see how she applies the skills acquired through our mentoring and wish her every success in her future career.”
