Balenciaga launches its first ski collection

As the snowy season arrives, Balenciaga takes to the slopes with its first ski collection.

It’s about time Balenciaga stepped into the ski universe, especially since oversized quilted jackets and icy tones are so ingrained in its universe. The Paris-based brand has prepared for the cold season with its first ski collection.

Comprising technical garments, accessories and ski gear, the collection will feature outerwear, gloves, footwear and goggles along with ski equipment such as poles, backpacks and a snowboard. The collection fuses transgressive elegance and technicality with après-ski.

Balenciaga’s new skis and snowboards are crafted from mirror-polished Titanal for precision, responsiveness and high-speed stability. As for the collection’s footwear, the new Alaska boot arrives in leather, nylon and faux fur iterations with removable chains.

The collection will make its debut at the Isetan Shinjuku Men’s Building in Tokyo with exclusive pieces that will only be available at the pop-up. The pop-up shop will also arrive in Seoul, where a similar installation will be launched at Shinsegae Gangnam department store on 22 November.
