The global TN community has participated in the exclusive launch of the ‘TN 25th’, a unique silhouette that commemorates the history of sneakers.
Foot Locker is preparing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of the most iconic models in the history of sneakers: the Nike Tuned (TN). To do so, it has planned a series of very special launches including a limited edition design, a book in collaboration with Sneaker Freaker and Nike, and numerous events across Europe.
Since its birth in 1998, the Nike TN has become the quintessential symbol of urban culture, winning over sneaker lovers and creating its own community. There are countless reinterpretations, infinite colour combinations and hundreds of designs that pay homage to local cultures, such as the recent ‘TN Mrseille’, launched last August.
For this historic milestone, Foot Locker has brought together the TN Community to give them the power to decide, through a voting process, the four best versions of all time. A total of 150,000 votes from all over the world resulted in four finalist models which, after being merged together, have resulted in a completely new, exclusive and captivating ‘TN 25th’. On a base of black midsoles stands a mesh structure in a striking asymmetrical gradient that combines the colours of the ‘Fireberry’, ‘Sanguine’, ‘Hyper Blue’ and ‘Palm’ versions.
A book has also been created for the occasion in collaboration with Nike and Sneaker Freaker, which tells the story of this iconic model through never-before-seen images, exclusive interviews, a detailed timeline and the participation of Sean McDowell, designer of the TN and a very relevant figure in the industry. In addition, activations will take place across Europe at Foot Locker shops in key cities such as Paris, London, Barcelona, Milan and Berlin.
“For 25 years Foot Locker has been the home of the TN. It’s been great to work with Nike over the years to launch hundreds of fresh colour schemes and remakes of original favourites, all of which have helped cement the TN as an iconic part of the trainer culture and community,” says Tomas Peterson, senior vice president and general manager of Foot Locker in Europe.
You can find the ‘TN 25th’ and the Sneaker Freaker book from 9 November at footlocker.es and selected retailers.
