The inspiration behind the Mr Porter x Tom Ford Fall 2023 collection takes us back to the effervescent mod and punk era of London in the 1960s.
The collection is notable for its focus on tailoring and outerwear, with a color palette that remains monochromatic, and the pieces employ traditional English fabrics such as flannel, houndstooth and herringbone.
Included within the 43 pieces are 36 ready-to-wear garments, three pairs of shoes, three ties and an elegant scarf. Each element is infused with Tom Ford’s distinctive design language, ensuring a sense of freshness and a modern attitude capable of seducing customers of both brands. Some of the highlights of the collection are the black leather and shearling peacoats, the shearling collared flight jacket, the psychedelic swirled tuxedo jackets, the gingham blazer, the black and white micro-designer suit, and the mohair silk turtleneck knitwear.
Daniel Todd, Mr Porter’s Chief Buying Officer, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, “We are thrilled to partner with Tom Ford on our biggest capsule exclusive to date. The collection is inspired by the first one we bought in 2015 and cements the long-standing and valuable relationship between our two brands. Referencing London and counterculture, the collection is brought to life through the use of luxurious textures and fabrics. Through the use of Tom Ford’s iconic tailoring block, the crisply cut styles convey a sense of freshness and an attitude that we know our customers love.
You can take a look at the collection in the image gallery, and for those interested in buying any of the pieces, it is now available exclusively at Mr Porter.
And in other fashion news, Marc Jacobs is once again betting on Kim Kardashian.
