The fashion house has selected the Italian designer to succeed Nicola Brognano.
Just two weeks after Brognano announced that he would no longer be in charge of Blumarine‘s creative direction, the house has appointed a new head: Walter Chiapponi. The Italian creative, trained in fashion design at the IED Istituto Europeo di Design, has worked for major brands such as Givenchy, Valentino, Gucci, Miu Miu, Bottega Veneta and Tod’s, leaving the latter at the beginning of the year.
Now, a new chapter begins at Blumarine and he will present his first collection at Milan Fashion Week in February 2024.
“I am delighted to have been appointed Creative Director of an iconic Italian brand that has over time outlined an idea of femininity that is defined by lightness and creativity. The chance to help establish a new era for Blumarine is an opportunity for me to embrace exciting and important new horizons, to broaden my vision and to bring meaning back to artistic expression,” says Chiapponi.
