Shot at La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris and at the Palais Garnier in Monaco, Slimane’s cast was immersed in semi-darkness, illuminated by LCD Soundsystem’s soundtrack and guided by ballet dancer Laurids Seidel.
Slimane revives his 2000s aspirations of documenting emerging talent in New York, taking inspiration from the likes of Nate Lowman, Dan Colen and Banks Violette for a leather collection that defies formality.
Models parade down mirrored aisles in rebellious uniforms, from tight leggings and flowing blouses to biker jackets and shiny tops. Slimane redefines masculine formality with double-breasted suits, bright prints and leather tracksuits with messages in Old English. Pieces creatively cover bare chests, and rhinestone-encrusted suits complete the young, wild and free collection, capturing the essence of a “delusional daydream” that will endure beyond the unexpected circumstances surrounding its creation.
And, in other fashion news, ‘Dior Icons’ reveals a new men’s series of timeless luxury.
