A series of porcelain works in very limited series that form part of ‘Art Editions’, Lladró’s new artistic platform.
Calleja, who approached the Valencian firm through the art promoter Gabriel Suárez, has taken his particular and unmistakable plastic universe to a new level of expression through a sculptural composition of three porcelain pieces: Niño, Gato Diablo and Gato Ángel. A limited and exclusive edition, the new collection is handmade while maintaining the brand’s rich colour palette, resulting in diverse and vibrant creations with an innocent appearance that generate emotions and invite reflection.
Once again the artist from Malaga manages to captivate admirers of his work and art lovers in general, guiding them on a unique visual journey where Spanish craftsmanship and his imagination merge irresistibly, giving a glimpse of the different cultural movements that inspire him. Although at first glance the sculptures stand out for their apparent visual simplicity, behind each one lies a great level of technical complexity that can be appreciated in the meticulous details that make them up.
“After seven decades revolutionising the world of porcelain, Art Editions is a strategic step in the diversification undertaken by Lladró and a clear example of the brand’s innovative power, based on the know-how of its artisans and the versatility of porcelain as a vehicle for artistic expression,” says Cristina Egido, the company’s Global Marketing Director.
Art Editions by Javier Calleja is presented as part of Art Week Miami, one of the most important meeting points for galleries, artists, collectors, curators and art enthusiasts in the world.
