Eight years after opening the doors of Kith Women to the world, founder Ronnie Fieg has now decided to turn the creative focus towards the future of streetwear through the artistic direction of Daniëlle Cathari.
In her ‘mission’ to dilute the gender barriers in urban fashion, Cathari, after having launched highly covetable collections for adidas Originals or Clarks, will now reinterpret the brand’s feminine legacy in order to build the new Kith girl.
The disruptive and innovative identity of the designer, who also runs her own eponymous brand, is what caught the attention of the brand, which has decided to link up with her in a joint project, initiated with the opening of its first flagship shop exclusively for women in New York’s SoHo, returning to its roots at 644 Broadway. A location where Kith’s first flagship store in Manhattan opened in 2011. The shop, which will open on December 15, will offer Kith Women’s own and multi-brand ready-to-wear apparel, accessories and footwear, and will also expand into an immersive IRL experience with a flower shop and café.
In her new role as creative director of Kith Women, Cathari will work alongside Kith’s creative director Ronnie Fieg and the brand’s team to “define the next chapter of the brand” through collections, creative and collabs, with a launch planned for late 2024.
