Following the success of its two previous On Demand collections, Desigual is getting a head start on spring with a third series of garments and accessories created with artificial intelligence. On this occasion, the brand’s team has used these tools to develop undeniably spring-like designs. The dresses, perfect for spring events, make up the bulk of the proposal.
As with the previous On Demand lines, these products do not yet exist… But they will start to become a reality when the person who wants one of them buys it. That is the starting point that has defined Desigual’s On Demand collections from the beginning. On social networks, Desigual is also testing the interest of its followers in this innovative line. This has been decisive in giving the green light to this third instalment.
Generated with artificial intelligence tools, these images are the only ones available of each of the pieces. As with the previous instalments, the intention was to test the usefulness of AI as a creative resource and, after different attempts, they managed to develop these proposals. The next step was clear: ask the question… Do you want us to produce them?
The dresses are the protagonists of the proposal. In yellow there is a long one with halter neck and semi-transparent fabric and another short one with ruffles, V-neck and flower print. In ivory and white tones, there are three: a midi dress with yellow flowers and puffed sleeves, another ivory silk lingerie dress, sleeveless, V-neckline and flowers, and a third short one with long sleeves and tulle fabric and flowers. The contrast is provided by a tight-fitting blue design with halter neck and orange flower embroidery.
In terms of tops, the collection includes a white long-sleeved women’s shirt with orange flowers and a tight-fitting beige stretch jumper with openwork and ruffles in alpaca and wool. The accessories section is made up of a beige satin butterfly-shaped bag and two scarves – a large square orange silk scarf, made in Italy, and a triangular one with multicoloured flowers, crochet and fringes. The proposal is completed by transparent tulle sleeves with yellow flowers.
As Thomas Meyer, founder of Desigual, explains, “this on-demand collection is the combination of our almost 40 years of history and the continuous transversal innovation that we drive from the company. We are very excited to test these designs made by our team and supported by artificial intelligence, the production of garments and accessories that are manufactured at the request of customers that will allow us to experiment with the reduction of product stock and investigate new ways to reach consumers, creating almost together”.
