K-Way® dazzled on a third day of Fashion Week with the unveiling of its eagerly awaited FW24 collection from the R&D line. At BasicVillage, the Milan headquarters of the BasicNet group, the ground floor was transformed into a white canvas dotted with fascinating art installations by the talented Anna Franceschini, reproducing Le Vrai 3.0 jackets in inflatable format.
The brand once again championed layering for another season; mixing and matching different clothing elements to create an original, practical and personalised style. Layering continues to be the brand’s watchword, allowing it to explore with lines, colours and materials to achieve innovative looks that are ever closer to contemporary luxury but without losing an ounce of functionality. “Sports life is increasingly merging with haute couture,” says Lorenzo Boglione, Executive Vice President of BasicNet SpA and CEO of K-Way. In short, a meticulous analysis of shapes and materials, leading to a collection where geometry and innovation are at the centre of everything.
Le Vrai 3.0 technical fabric rain jackets are a constant on the catwalk, whether wrapping like a skirt or fluttering from weekender bags in three different sizes. The iconic tricolour zip, emblematic of K-Way®, signs coats, tops, skirts and trousers with elongated lines, enhanced by geometric quilting that even extends to accessories. The warm and flexible scuba brings tops, skirts and trousers to life, reminding us of the sporty essence of K-Way®. Smooth velvet bombers, a blend of silk and viscose, are mixed with regular fit jackets and coats, reviving the brand’s outdoor spirit.
The Kway woman is rediscovered, manifesting herself in canonical forms. We can see her in tailored and executive looks, such as a quilted bustier over a shirt and tie with a long skirt, or a shape-hugging midi dress accentuated by the brand’s iconic zip.
Materials are carefully selected with a focus on sustainability. K-Way® is committed to the increased use of reclaimed or responsibly sourced materials, ensuring durable, high-quality products. Furs, for example, are treated with an ecological perspective, materialising in the quilted jackets, combined with the three-layer Bonded fabric, elastic and waterproof, but at the same time soft and elegant.
K-Way® not only presented its new collection, but created a sensory experience so polished that it is sure to be one of the shows to remember from Milan Fashion Week.
