With Mexico and the rest of Latin America as his flagship, Patricio Campillo takes his menswear proposal to one of the biggest platforms for new fashion talents worldwide, the LVMH Prize, an initiative launched in 2013 by the largest luxury giant today, the French conglomerate LVMH. The designer will have to present his collection to a jury on 29 February and 1 March, who will determine who continues in the race for the prize.
Through his brand Campillo, Patricio has been selected as one of the semi-finalists in the competition, marking a milestone for Mexican fashion by becoming the first representative of the country to reach this stage. As shown in his Spring-Summer 2024 collection, which features blazers with brooches that emulate a cockfight when closed.
Three prizes will be awarded in this edition: The LVMH Prize, the Karl Lagerfeld Special Jury Prize and the Savoir-Faire Prize. The winner in the first category will receive a scholarship worth €400,000 and a year of mentoring from the LVMH team; the second prize entitled Karl Lagerfeld includes €200,000 and a year of mentoring from the firm; and the third winner will receive the new Savoir-Faire prize, based on €200,000 and a year of mentoring specialising in sustainability, innovation and craftsmanship.
