The Hinds, beyond liking black coffee and pitis, are also passionate about distorting the music scene. They have been doing so for just over a decade, in 2014 when Carlota Cossials and Ana Perrote burst into the garage scene with the ultra-melodic “Bamboo”. Now, that spirit is revived in the single “Coffee“, their comeback after four years without releasing new music.
“‘Coffee’ is about sincerity, shouting the unpleasant truth as loud as you can without shame. It’s about admitting all the things you’re not supposed to like or doing all the things you’re not supposed to do. It’s a lot of fun when you can be totally honest and shut that little voice in your head that tells you what you should or shouldn’t do,” the artists say.
The new song, which sees the light through the British label Lucky Number, has counted with the artistic production of Pete Robertson -in charge of producing works of The Vaccine- and mixed by Caesar Edmunds.
“Coffee” also has a music video directed and starred by Hinds themselves, staged between a garage and a parking lot, in which several artist friends of the duo make a cameo: from La Meji to Valdivia, Mira Paula or Ganges, with whom they open a new era for Hinds, who in the coming months already have shows confirmed in the United States, Germany, France, United Kingdom and Spain.
