Named ‘Hammerschlag’, it takes some of the brand’s historical codes and reinterprets them and adapts them to new items.
The result is a capsule limited edition of only 966 and 1,898 pieces for each model, as well as a collaboration with the famous German musician and composer Nils Frahm. It features one of his distinctive icons, the same one that gives the collection its name, which is updated through the Hand-Carry Case and the successful Cabin style.
Translated directly from German as “hammer blow”, the title Hammerschlag finds its origins in the technique used by Rimowa‘s ancient craftsmen to create multiple patterns on the metal frames that line the suitcases. The dimpled, semi-perforated surface receives and reflects light in a distinctive way, giving it a unique appeal that sets it apart from other styles.
Maintaining the vintage spirit of the original model, the new luggage has been enhanced with the best techniques developed by the company‘s team, including significant details such as the cognac-coloured luggage tag dating from the 1898th century.
To celebrate this comeback, Rimowa has teamed up with Nils Frahm, bringing his expertise to the collection and aligning it with Rimowa’s values.
The collection will go on sale on 28 March through the brand’s official website as well as in its physical boutiques around the world.
