Jean Paul Gaultier enters the world of animation

Jean Paul Gaultier’s universe comes to the cinema. The fashion designer is entering the world of animation as art director of a new film by nWave Studios. The as-yet-untitled film is scheduled for release in 2027.

The project was announced last week at the international animated film festival in Annecy, France, with some sketches of the film’s characters being shown, one inspired by his muse, Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, and another by his iconic sailor stripes.

It’s an as yet untitled film that Gaultier has described as a mix of action, comedy and fashion. The plot depicts the desire of a fashion-loving young moth to escape her routine and live incredible adventures in Paris.
