GAP recruits Troye Sivan to front its Fall 2024 campaign, ‘Get Loose’. The Australian artist, renowned for both his music and his personal style, perfectly embodies the classic and relaxed essence of GAP, wearing looks that blend the iconic with the timeless. Sivan wears key pieces from the collection, focusing on denim and cotton pieces that stand out for their simplicity and versatility.
The first outfit he presents is a monochrome ensemble in shades of brown. Sivan wears the ‘90s Loose Cargo Jean, a piece that evokes the nostalgia of ’90s fashion, paired with a heavyweight zip-up hoodie and corduroy jacket. In his second look, the artist goes for the essentials, with a white GAP Relaxed T-shirt paired with dark-wash Baggy Jeans.
The video, directed by Dan Martensen, features Sivan and the CDK collective choreographing to Thundercat’s ‘Funny Thing’. The visual aesthetics and movements are reminiscent of those characteristic of his ‘Rush’ and ‘Got Me Started’ videos, where he also worked with this team. This audiovisual piece follows in the wake of Tyla’s viral for GAP, in which he danced to Jungle’s ‘Back On 74’.
For Sivan, this collaboration has a special meaning: ‘Being part of GAP’s campaign and wearing their denim feels like a natural fit. Dancing has become a constant in my life, giving me a confidence that feels fresh and timeless,’ says the artist. ‘I’m thrilled to be a part of an initiative that celebrates personal style and self-expression in such an authentic way.’
Mark Breitbard, president and CEO of GAP, explains, ‘This fall, we celebrate Gap’s 55-year history in denim with a collection that puts self-expression at the centre through relaxed, roomy silhouettes. The campaign with Troye Sivan perfectly captures the spirit of this season, showing how our garments move with the body and offer fashion that entertains and connects.
