The French fashion house’s latest campaign reveals all the details of its new it-bag.
Each star shows a facet of their personality as they create a character study and allow themselves to be portrayed by Nadav Kander. In the shots, they wear some of Balenciaga‘s latest ready-to-wear designs such as trompe l’oeil trousers and elegant evening gowns. But what’s really important is on their laps: the Bel Air bag.
It is the brand’s new icon, directly inspired – as the name suggests – by the luxurious Los Angeles neighbourhood known for its glamorous mansions and inhabitants. Its hallmark is the logo-engraved metal swivel clasp that connects two slender straps via a wide front. Its construction is deceptively relaxed, with a fortified, rounded-edged structure designed to live like a timeless relic.
The Bel Air, made of naturally smooth leather, comes in multiple styles and treatments. Its exterior is painted with a transparent matt finish that subtly highlights its qualities.
