For thirty minutes, the East Village’s marble cemetery became the stage where Collina Strada erased the dangers of the outside world and immersed us in its SS25 universe: a burst of colour, climate awareness and an aesthetic as fresh as it is necessary. ‘You know the meme of “touching the grass”? The world right now is a battlefield, and I think we need to reconnect with that inner peace by touching the grass,’ said Hillary Taymour, creative director and soul of Collina Strada. And so, with the vibe of the internet’s most relatable, she wove her narrative for the latest collection.
Mother Earth’ is the mood. Taymour orchestrated an ode to femininity from a flowing, floral optic that permeated every corner of the show. Light, ethereal dresses floated to the rhythm of a soundtrack designed to uplift: a remix of The Chords‘ “Sh-Boom” turned “Life could be green”, a tuned version of the Beach Boys’ ‘Vegetables’, and an original piece entitled ‘World of Collina Strada’.
The list of cameos was not short: The Green Lady of Brooklyn and sustainability guru Mara Hoffman appeared to add that unmistakable touch. Details that only Taymour could spin: extra-long hair with green tips, grass clippings attached to the ankles, and a footwear proposal ranging from a future collab with Puma to grass-covered Sperry Topsiders and the brand’s first sports boots.
‘I wanted to turn down the volume of the outside noise and speak quietly. This collection is just that: quiet, but powerful. Challenging and conscious,’ Taymour continued. In a world saturated with heavy news, a fashion show can seem trivial, but when the little joys come together – a floppy hat, fluttering sleeves, the breeze in the trees – they create something vital: a meadow in full bloom. This show is our secret garden, a reminder to disconnect from digital distractions and reconnect with the essentials. Earth. Touch the grass.
Collina Strada x PUMA is all ruffles, flowers and lots of fun.
