Travis Scott and Spotify are ready to go all out in celebration of Days Before Rodeo, the iconic album that marked La Flame’s breakout. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of this scene-redefining project, Spotify has put together a mini-documentary that explores how this mixtape became a timeless classic. The film takes us on a late-night journey to relive a decade of the Houston rapper’s success since the release of his second mixtape, following Owl Pharaoh.
Titled Spotify Presents: Days Before Rodeo, the mini-documentary and concert will be available on YouTube. The footage follows Travis Scott at an unforgettable show in Atlanta in August, where he returned to the essence of Days Before Rodeo. The sold-out evening featured a surprise appearance by Quavo, and a session led by Chase B. Fans were treated to high-voltage classics such as ‘Mamacita’, ‘Basement Freestyle’, ‘Drugs You Should Try It’, ‘Skyfall’ and more.
Josh Peas, Head of Hip-Hop & R&B Artist Partnerships at Spotify, commented: ‘Days Before Rodeo is an era-defining project. For the mixtape’s 10th anniversary and its streaming release, we wanted to capture the energy that connected so many. Together with the Cactus Jack team, we put on a brutal show in Atlanta for Travis superfans on Spotify, taking them back to the roots. This documentary is a perfect time capsule to relive that unique night’.
With epic collaborations from Migos, Big Sean, Young Thug and the legendary Rich Homie Quan, this album is still a gem. The official trailer is available now, and the mini-doc premieres on 18 September on YouTube.
