The Attico’s creative directors, Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio, have channelled the heartbreak they both recently experienced into a Spring/Summer 2025 collection. At Milan Fashion Week, they presented a proposal that navigates between fragility and strength, exploring the duality that arises in times of vulnerability. ‘It’s a metaphor,’ they confessed backstage. ‘We wanted to delve into fragility this season, inspired by a personal experience we both lived through: falling out of love. In fashion, there is a lot of talk about strength, but rarely about fragility. However, we believe that both can coexist in the same story’.
The collection, entitled ‘The Sound of Breaking Glass’, is a journey through contrasts. The space, decorated with chandeliers and coloured lamps, was filled with the sound of breaking glass, while the garments on the catwalk reflected a raw sensuality: sheer fabrics, body-sculpting silhouettes, delicate embroidery and feathered headpieces. The colour palette ranged from faded tones to shocking red. In addition, The Attico debuted its first everyday bag, ‘La Passeggiata’, available for immediate purchase after the show.
This season, the creative duo also experimented with a masculine touch, incorporating robust materials such as nylon, cargo trousers and bomber jackets, inspired by the athleisure aesthetic. Their foray into sportswear was brought to life through their second collaboration with Nike. Tordini explained: ‘This season we mixed sportswear to bring out the masculine side of our woman, a side that is always present. The collaboration with Nike is just the beginning. We’ve incorporated pieces like Shox and ready-to-wear, treating them with the same worn-in approach as the rest of the collection – there’s more to come with Nike!’.
