At the beginning of this year, the Barcelona electronic music band Mainline Magic Orchestra released their first album, ‘Harri Poter’. This work, inspired by a magical and absurd imaginary, was presented with collaborations as diverse as Juicy Romance and P.Vanillaboy, and they premiered it at the Sonar Festival with a show that was hard to forget.
Months later, the band has taken a new look at their LP, which features a mixture of experimental music, unbridled rhythms and surreal humour, and has decided to join forces with artists and friends to produce several remixes of songs from the album. This is the first one, by Marcelo Pantani, which revisits Skateboarding Is Not A Crime.
Marcelo Pantani’s remix turns the already playful original into a powerful trance-tinged club piece. The track takes on a much more danceable structure, with synths taking centre stage, thumping bass and a relentless 4/4 beat.
Pantani strikes a perfect balance between nostalgic rave elements and modern day inspirations, resulting in a hypnotic and polished track, ideal for the dancefloor. The tension-filled breakdowns and euphoric highs create perfect moments for the climax of the night. This rework respects the essence of the original while injecting it with a vibrant new energy, ideal for club use.
This is only the first preview and soon we will be able to discover the rest of the remixes.
