By crossing the boundaries between the work itself and the artistic process, the Creative Director aims to bring fashion back to its origins and underline the relationship between the body and what it wears, between intention and function.
Gathered at the historic Musée Rodin in the French capital, we discovered the new surprises that Chiuri has been working on for the past few months: A tribute to feminine strength. The collection is deeply influenced by the athletes of the Paris Olympics, which reimagines the figure of the Amazon woman through a proposal that combines classical references and technical modernity.
Thus, we find pieces marked by a minimalist aesthetic in a palette of neutral tones – blacks, whites and beige – where asymmetrical dresses and handcrafted details such as leather straps and belts stand out. The designer delves into the Maison’s archives and revisits the iconic ‘Amazona’ dress that Christian Dior made in 1951, but reinterprets it for the contemporary woman: powerful, confident and with a rebellious touch. High boots and off-the-shoulder looks underlined this dichotomy between strength and sensuality.
But not all eyes were focused on the collection. The installation hidden inside the large Dior cube also took centre stage thanks to SAGG Napoli. The Italian artist surprised the audience with an archery performance that set the tone for the presentation, which at one point vibrated to the rhythm of ‘Guess’ by Charli XCX and Billie Eilish.
Rosalía, Natalie Portman, JISOO, Anya Taylor-Joy or Aya Nakamura were some of the celebrities who did not want to miss this event that, far from being just a fashion show, was a declaration of intentions.
