New documentary exposes allegations against Chris Brown

Investigation Discovery (ID), the network behind Quiet on Set, has just revealed the premiere date for its highly anticipated documentary Chris Brown: A History of Violence, which is part of the annual No Excuse for Abuse initiative.

The documentary looks at how Chris Brown has managed to maintain his status as a global star despite the multiple allegations of abuse he has faced over the years. These allegations, which began in 2009 following the brutal assault of his then-partner Rihanna, range from ‘off-stage violence’ to ‘sexual assault’ and ‘intimate partner violence’. A History of Violence also incorporates the testimony of a new accuser, whose anonymity maintains the mystery surrounding her story.

With a narrative woven through expert commentary and cultural analysis, the documentary delves into the devastating psychological aftermath that abuse leaves on each survivor. According to the producers, it is a work that offers a ‘conscious reflection’ on the experiences of those who have suffered at the hands of violence.

Jason Sarlanis, president of ID, reinforced the network’s commitment to creating content that empowers communities, adding that the No Excuse for Abuse campaign seeks to bring support resources to survivors and their loved ones, reminding them that they are not alone.

Chris Brown: A History of Violence will be released on 27 October on ID.

Taylor Swift is crowned the artist with the most VMA wins in history.
