Bringing French minimalism to the hectic routine of the heart of Manhattan.
The universe of Simon Porte Jacquemus lands in the city that never sleeps with the aim of conquering the other side of the pond. The creative director knows no borders or limits, and neither does his imagination. With this opening, he continues to consolidate his position as one of the most successful designers of recent years and reinforces his international expansion by locating in the emblematic SoHo neighbourhood – specifically at 143 Spring Street.
This new 270 m2 space is not simply a retail outlet, but an immersive sensory experience that envelops visitors in an environment that blends the minimalist elegance of the South of France with the industrial touches of the big city. ‘The New York Boutique’, envisioned by architectural firm OMA and overseen by Simon, far from following the standard of conventional boutiques, offers a unique narrative that combines a warm and welcoming air with bold geometric lines. The chromatic palette – so characteristic of the brand – extends across the walls, with neutral tones interspersed with vibrant accents of earthy colours, recalling the Mediterranean landscape that serves as inspiration for Jacquemus.
The opening adds a new chapter in the history of the fashion house, which has its flagship shop on the luxurious Avenue Montaigne in Paris, several outlets in the French capital (Galeries Laffayette, Printemps Haussman) as well as a corner in the Dubai Mall and a boutique in Saint-Tropez.
