Everything you need to know about eyelash lifts

There are many ways to have long and wavy eyelashes in record time, although we don’t always know which treatment is the most suitable. The eyelash lift is one of the most popular, a semi-permanent technique that lifts and curls the natural hairs upwards, the perfect alternative to extensions. Bárbara Torres, distributor in Spain of the Dutch firm Pe Cosmetics and Esperanza Sáenz, image manager of Nezeni Cosmetics, tell us all the secrets of eyelash lifting and clarify the most frequent doubts about it.

The eyelash lift stimulates the natural hair, lifting and curving it from the base to the tips, which makes it an excellent option if you have straight eyelashes that are not very visible from the front: ‘Basically, it creates a visible frame around the eyes that makes our look stand out and stand out more, yes, it does not make the lashes look fuller or thicker, they are not extensions, we are talking about our natural eyelash, for which it is necessary to have at least a minimum length of 4mm’ – explains Esperanza Sáenz, image manager of the firm Nezeni Cosmetics.

Bárbara Torres, distributor in Spain of Pe Cosmetics, a company dedicated exclusively to the care and beauty of eyebrows and eyelashes, considers it essential to first evaluate the natural eyelashes before starting the lifting: ‘In addition to observing the state and length of the eyelashes, the desired finish is agreed with the client, also to choose the appropriate pads on which the natural eyelashes will be brushed. Depending on the density of the hair, the solution is left on for more or less minutes’. After this first solution, a fixing lotion is applied to ensure that the shape is fixed, finishing with a conditioner to help moisturise and strengthen them after the lift.

Duration, advice and care after the treatment

An eyelash lift lasts approximately 45-60 minutes if it does not include tinting, which is almost an hour and a half: ‘Afterwards, its effect will last between four and eight weeks without the need for touch-ups, everything is very natural and does not give any work, that is another of its advantages together with the fact of being able to use mascara. The way we live in such a hurry and so much stress, makes many women and young girls opt for lifting over extensions, they save time and the result is spectacular’ – tells us Bárbara Torres, who also recommends going to your salon without mascara or eye makeup, and once done, do not wet the lashes in the following 24 hours (be careful in the shower) or use mascara in the same period of time.
