Aēsop’s relationship with the world of cinema has always been close. Celluloid has served as an inspiration for both product formulation and interior design. Director Luca Guadagnino, for example, has been in charge of the interior design of a number of shops in Rome and London. Aēsop Knox (in Dallas, Texas) features a looped projection of the classic ‘Paris, Texas’, while the interiors of the Chengdu Shuangliu Airport shop look like something out of a 1960s sci-fi epic.
This year, Aēsop’s three limited edition gift kits act as aromatic odes to the big screen. They are based on the brand’s historic reverence for cinema. The packaging for this collection is inspired by the flaws, light leaks and scratches seen in worn celluloid, rendered in colourful designs that evoke the materiality of cinema.
In the ‘Screen 2’ kit, the Geranium Leaf body care range plays a starring role, with a trio of formulas to cleanse, gently exfoliate and repair skin from neck to toe. Characterised by their green, fresh and citrusy scent, the Geranium Leaf formulas are an ideal choice for those who want to enjoy fresh notes in the bath.
In addition to these three kits, Aēsop offers the unique opportunity to become a director for a day and design a personalised gift box. Three sizes are available, for those who want to direct a blockbuster or prefer something more humble. The paper sleeve and cardboard box dividers are made from recycled and recyclable materials.
Aesop gift kits are available in stores, selected retailers and on the aesop.com website.
