Andrés Sánchez, known artistically as Piro, will bring his sensorial universe to the iconic hotel The Madrid EDITION, where he will present an installation that will not only pay homage to the best time of the year, but will completely transform one of the most photographable spots of the moment. On the hotel’s iconic spiral staircase, the artist will unfurl a contemporary 4.5-metre tree that will become a living, constantly mutating sculpture.
More than a typical tree, it will be a monumental piece, made from large raw canvas canvases hand-worked in his studio. This work seeks to convey dynamism and contrast. The canvases will not only wrap around a conical wooden structure, but will become a dynamic embrace, creating folds and gathers that evoke movement, tension and transformation. Each crease, each fold, will bring a unique, almost organic volume that defies the rigidity of the traditional tree.
Far from the classic tree, this creation is understood as a metaphor for dynamism and contrast, seeking not only to connect with Christmas, but also with the space that surrounds it, but from an artistic and different perspective: being a fusion between art and celebration. With this installation, Piro achieves that the tree not only decorates, but also invites reflection, transforming the environment into a more vibrant and welcoming place, through a visual presence full of energy and colour.
