These are the dating trends for 2025

Bumble has just released its 2025 dating trends report, and the conclusions are clear: the girls have spoken. If in 2024 Generation Z marked a break with tradition and opted for a more authentic life, in 2025 women are going one step further. Next year’s central theme: clarity. ‘2025 will be a year of transition, with women very aware of what they want and need,’ says Bumble. The summary? No more half measures.

Far from the popular belief that Gen Z women are abandoning dating, Bumble’s study reveals that, spoiler, they’re still there. Yes, they’re still looking for love, but now with a less toxic filter. 72% of global users are looking for something serious in 2025, but what has changed is the level of tolerance. Women are being more honest with themselves, cutting back on concessions. The result? 66% of British women are no longer settling for the first thing that happens, not even for politeness.

1. Romance makes a comeback

Who said romance was endangered? 58% of women claim to be romantic, and 44% say the lack of romance has killed their love life. Gestures, flowers and letters are back.

2. Real content

The era of the perfect date on Instagram is going bye-bye. Now, real content, without filters and with its ups and downs, is dominating the networks. No one wants perfect photos of a coffee and a sunset anymore. 41% of global singles prefer to consume content that captures what’s really going on in a couple’s day-to-day life.

3. Peculiar hobbies

Weird is in. From fandoms to niche sports, quirky interests are now the biggest chemistry generators. 60% of singles agree that finding someone with a unique passion is now more important than ever. If you share a passion for something unique, you’re already halfway there.

4. Breaking stereotypes

The debate about male stereotypes is more lively than ever. 36% of Brits are questioning these clichés, but 29% say they still exist and generate misinterpretations. Less ‘bad boy’ and more real men.

5. Future-proof

The future is no longer just a political thing, it’s also shaping our love decisions. Ninety-five percent of singles say their worries about tomorrow are influencing who they are willing to date. Women are prioritising stability and emotional reliability above all else.

6. Friendship counts too

Didn’t you know that friendship is one of the foundations of a good relationship? Well, now you do. 31% of women are opening up more to their male friends about dating, relationships and more. Men who are good listeners, who are there for support and who become an emotional network are the new ‘ideal men’.

Are you ready to take advantage of the last supermoon of the year? Don’t forget to give space to the magic that is unfolding under this cosmic influence.
