Escif, one of the most relevant artists on the contemporary scene, launches in collaboration with Brilloysabor Estudio his long-awaited publishing project: Los cimientos de la armonía y de la invención (The foundations of harmony and invention). With a 600-page format, this work becomes a kind of visual and narrative archive that covers more than ten years of his prolific career, from 2012 to the present day.
The book, which is presented as a profound exploration of Escif’s work, not only covers his murals, faults, paintings and exhibitions, but also delves into the philosophical, poetic and aesthetic roots of his proposal. Through texts by thinkers such as Santiago Alba Rico and Teresa Juan, the project highlights the constant dialogue between Escif’s art and contemporary challenges, emphasising the search for a critical harmony in the face of the dizzying pace of our society.
With an approach that fuses resistance and reflection, The Foundations of Harmony and Invention is presented as a visual and literary compendium that reflects on the tension between rebellion and reflection, between the ephemeral and the enduring. Each page invites us to pause, to reflect on the origin, the process and the memory of the artist’s interventions, weaving a story that unfolds in both images and texts.
The design and layout of the book is the work of Antonio Ballesteros, who has previously collaborated with Escif on other projects, creating a piece that reflects the essence of the artist himself: minimalist, but full of meaning. With a limited edition of 1,000 copies, this edition is a jewel for collectors and art lovers who want to delve into the vision of one of the greatest exponents of contemporary art.
