A new interpretation of a classic, made for those who appreciate refined aesthetics and premium quality.

JJJJound’s adidas ‘Made in Japan’ Superstar 90 ready for 2025

Following the adidas Samba ‘Tobacco’ released last June, the iconic Montreal studio JJJound surprises again with a new version of the Superstar 90. This time, in a total black colourway and with the ‘Made in Japan’ stamp, a nod to Japanese craftsmanship.

As usual in JJJound’s collaborations, the design maintains the essence of the classic, but with subtle details that transform the model into something unique. Instead of adding elements to the silhouette, the studio opted to simplify it. The tongue does away with the logo and the heel tabs are stripped of the iconic trefoil, leaving them clean and minimalist. In addition, the classic gold ‘Superstar’ on the three stripes is replaced by the studio’s name, ‘JJJJJound’, in an understated but sophisticated tone.

The result is an all-black sneaker, from the Japanese leather upper to the laces and midsole. Only the subtle white accents on the heel tabs and three side stripes stand out, while the brown lining adds a warm touch to the ensemble.

The JJJJound x adidas Superstar 90 ‘Made in Japan’ is scheduled for release on February 1, 2025, available on the JJJJJound website and at select retailers.

The Adizero SL72 silhouette, which fuses retro elements with a contemporary reinterpretation, captures the versatile essence of Bad Bunny.
