Kim Jones’s Summer 2025 proposal for Dior Men

The creative director once again redefines what it means to fuse heritage, avant-garde and functionality.

For the Summer 2025 season, Kim Jones delves into the Maison‘s savoir-faire codes with the aim of offering a men’s collection that is not only a tribute to tradition, but also a bold reinterpretation of the contemporary. Inspired by the work of South African artist Hylton Nel, he creates an exciting dialogue between haute couture and craftsmanship, a visually stunning symbiosis of technique and design.

The pieces stand out for their sculptural and fluid lines, taking influences from the language of ceramics. The rounded shapes and refined finishes recall the softness of curves, as if they were a three-dimensional work of art. Each garment speaks of an exceptional fusion between the tradition of French couture and the creative vision of the artistic director.

At the same time, Pieter Hugo‘s images capture the essence of this visual homage. In a pastel setting of lush greenery, the models pose on colourful pedestals, evoking a unique atmosphere where haute couture meets contemporary art. The reinterpretation of Nel‘s iconic cats, present in prints and textures, adds a playful touch to a deeply sophisticated collection.

Volume becomes one of the main protagonists of this proposal. With a strong presence of rounded shapes and a novel use of the apron, Kim Jones manages to reinvent classic symbols, reinterpreting them in a subtle way. The apron, for example, is transformed into a minimalist belt, a nod to tradition that, at the same time, is modernised with a fresh, urban touch.

The accessories, such as the Dior Normandie bag and the Saddle, echo this dual vision of practicality and aesthetics. The former is presented in a new grained leather that makes it the perfect everyday companion, while the latter continues to explore the boundaries of design.

Available in suede or raffia, B35 NXXT sneakers are one of the season’s most coveted pieces, fusing comfort and elegance without sacrificing style. The same goes for clogs, which Jones transforms into biker boots and trendy derbies, taking versatility to the next level.

As a piece that reveals a passion for innovation, the scarf collar, inspired by the design that Yves Saint Laurent imagined for the Autumn/Winter 1960-1961 collection, becomes a symbol of the collection. Its innovative technique adorns the brooches of jackets and coats, bringing an arty air to every look.

Finally, cloche hats are incorporated as a distinctive element that adds a touch of boldness and modernity. With each of these details, the creative confirms his mastery of reimagining the classic and the contemporary, creating a visual narrative that celebrates tradition while embracing the avant-garde.
